As authorities continue to investigate the case, they have not released any details yet about Mazzaglia may have killed Marriott or what he may have done with her body.
The search for Marriott's body was intensified on Friday and after Portsmouth Police received some information that Marriott's body might be somewhere near Peirce Island, they conducted a search on Friday evening and Saturday morning.
In Marriott's home town of Westborough, Mass., family members and friends held a candle light vigil to remember the young woman who was once a prom queen. University of New Hampshire officials also released a statement on Saturday expessing the campus' sorrow and grief over Marriott's death.
