Bad Check Allegedly Passed

The following information was supplied by Westborough Police. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Roxbury woman allegedly tried to cash a counterfeit check at Avidia Bank on Thursday, Westborough Police say.

Kimberly Sanchez told Officer Dean Paine and Sgt. Steven Reale that "she was being paid to cash the check by someone who had dropped her off" at the bank, at 33 West Main St., Police Chief Alan Gordon said today in a press release.

"The check in question was to a business in Massachusetts. A check with the business by the bank showed the check was not one issued to this business," Gordon said.

Police arrested Sanchez, 25, of 180 Ruggles St., Apt. 122, Roxbury and charged her with uttering a false check, at 3:25 p.m., according to the Westborough Police log.

Sanchez faced arraignment Friday in Westborough District Court, Gordon said.
