Alleged Drunk Driver Stops on Dealership Lawn

Northborough woman faces arraignment today.

An allegedly drunk driver from Northborough struck a jersey barrier on Route 9, drove off the road and onto the grass in front of a local car dealership late Tuesday night, Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon said this morning.

During booking in the 11:12 p.m. incident, police found an Oxycodone pill on Judy Houle, who did not have a prescription for it, Gordon said in a press release.

And during the traffic stop, Officer Chris Atchue found Houle had a Florida driver's license, despite "living in Northborough for a considerable time," Gordon said.

Police charged Houle, 48, of 33 South St., Apt. 3, Northborough with operating under the influence of alcohol; a marked lanes violation; unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a Class B drug, according to the Westborough Police log.

Atchue saw Houle, driving a 1994 Buick, heading east on Route 9 near Route 135 and "weaving between all lanes," Gordon said.

The Buick "eventually struck the jersey barrier dividing the east and west bound lanes," Gordon said.

Atchue tried to stop the car near the GMC dealership just west of Lyman Street, but it instead went off the road, stopping on the grass in front of that business, Gordon said.

Houle was bailed for her arraignment in Westborough District Court today, he said.
