Accused Marriott Murderer Stands Trial Tuesday

Seth Mazzaglia will stand trial in the murder of Elizabeth Marriott.

DOVER, N.H. – The trial for the man accused of murdering Elizabeth "Lizzi" Marriott begins May 27 in Strafford County Superior Court.

The jury is now set for the case against Seth Mazzaglia, 31, WMUR reports.

Mazzaglia is accused of killing Marriott, a 19-year-old student at the University of New Hampshire, at his Dover apartment in 2012. Her body, reportedly dumped off of Peirce Island in Portsmouth, has not been recovered.

The trial will have some sensitive details of the relationship, and sexual role-playing, that was reported to have transpired at Mazzaglia's apartment that night in question.

Marriott was last seen Oct. 9, 2012. Authorities conducted extensive searches along the Piscataqua River and Portsmouth's coast for the body, to no avail.
