$350 Bike Allegedly Stolen, Then Recovered, From Train Station

The suspect then allegedly then rode into Westborough, looking for a ride home.

A Marlborough resident allegedly stole a $350 bicycle from the Westborough MBTA commuter rail station on Monday and then rode into Westborough, looking for a ride home, Police Chief Alan Gordon said Tuesday.

Declan Sherman wasn't wearing a shirt or shoes, and was "very dirty looking," when police saw him on Robin Lane, Gordon said.

Police were there in response to a report of a suspicious person at 3:21 p.m.

Sherman had taken the MBTA commuter rail from Boston, heading home, and got off the train in Westborough, Gordon said.

Sherman then "stole a bike from the T station, (and) that's what he was riding in the Robin Lane area," Gordon said.

Police arrested Sherman, 18, of 153 Hildreth St., Marlborough, and charged him with receiving stolen property (the bicycle).
