The Westborough Public Library needs people to light up a National Grid contest now.

As of 7 p.m. Sunday, Westborough was second among seven Massachusetts libraries competing for an Energy Star lighting makeover valued at more than $15,000, funded by National Grid.

Lancaster's Thayer Memorial Library had 38 percent of the votes. Westborough had 33 percent.

Voting online is running throughout November.

One can vote once per day from Nov. 1 until Nov. 30.

On Nov. 9, the Westborough library hosted National Grid's "Light Up Your Library Community Tour," featuring a variety of activities promoting energy awareness. Radio Disney led part of the program.

National Grid also donated "a couple hundred" fluorescent light bulbs that will be sold for $1 each, with the proceeds benefiting the Friends of the Westborough Public Library.
