Light Reading Enjoyed at Westborough Library

The Westborough Public Library offered both light reading, and reading about lights, on Saturday.

The library hosted National Grid's "Light Up Your Library Community Tour," featuring a variety of activities promoting energy awareness. Radio Disney led part of the program.

National Grid also donated "a couple hundred" fluorescent light bulbs that will be sold for $1 each, with the proceeds benefiting the Friends of the Westborough Public Library.

The Westborough library is among seven Massachusetts libraries, and two Rhode Island ones, competing for an Energy Star lighting makeover valued at more than $15,000, funded by National Grid.

Voting online is running throughout November.

One can vote once per day until Nov. 30.
