PENTA makes surprise donation to Girls Inc.

MARLBOROUGH _ Donating to 25 charities is one of the many ways PENTA Communications, Inc. is commemorating its 25th anniversary year. Recently, Deborah Penta, CEO of PENTA Communications, Inc. presented Victoria Waterman, CEO of Girls Inc. of Worcester with a surprise donation of $1,000, in recognition of the positive impact that Girls Inc. is making to empower young girls in the community.

The donation was given at the Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Forward Females (BFF) November luncheon, held at the Boston Marlborough Courtyard by Marriott in Marlborough on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. The BFF networking group for women was developed to encourage, support, educate, and promote business women in the Corridor Nine Area Chamber of Commerce region.

PENTA Communications, Inc. is the presenting program sponsor of the BFF Networking Group through its nonprofit organization, the Female Leadership Interest Council, Inc. (FLIC®). FLIC was founded in 2006 by Deborah Penta as a way of “paying it forward” to help inspire women through leadership support, mentoring, education and programs designed to empower women in business and in life. PENTA Communications is known for giving back to the community in many ways. Through its nonprofit women’s leadership organization, it has made strides over the years by bringing many trailblazing female speakers to hundreds of women throughout Massachusetts.

“Thanks to PENTA’s generous donation, we are able to bring quality research-based programs to over 1,400 girls in our community, many of whom are from under-served and low-income families. As the oldest and only girl-serving facility-based organization, we are proud to offer programs with successful outcomes in the areas of violence/bullying prevention, economic literacy, homework help, leadership skills, fitness /nutrition, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, math),” said Victoria Waterman, CEO of Girls Inc. of Worcester. “Our mission to ‘inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold’ couldn’t be possible without the support and generosity of organizations like PENTA Communications.”
