In Your Shoes Thanks Community For Food Drive Support

The 25 Food Drive sponsored by In Your Shoes, a giving circle,  has ended and we would like to thank everyone who participated and made this program a great success.  While celebrating the 25th birthday of the Westborough Food Pantry, the 25 Food Drive was a program designed to help restock the Westborough Food Pantry shelves throughout the summer months when donations tend to be low.
 On June 28, members of In Your Shoes began distributing laminated silver stars around town. They asked that recipients of these stars donate to the Westborough Food Pantry and then pass the star along to a friend or neighbor. When reminded that ‘hunger does not take the summer off’, the Westborough community response was fabulous.  Over a half ton of food and several hundred dollars in cash donations were delivered to the Food Pantry between July 1 and Aug. 15.
IYS would like to thank the staff at the Westborough Public Library and the staff of the Westborough Fire Department for serving as drop off locations for food donations and Curry Copy for their help laminating the stars. Through the 25 Food Drive program, the Westborough community once again demonstrated its generosity and willingness to help those in need this summer. We are very grateful to all who participated.Please return all stars to the front lawn of the Westborough Public Library.
