3. is hosting author A.S. King on Tuesday, April 10 at 7 p.m. King is the author of Please Ignore Vera Kietz, the feature in the first ever town-wide reading project. The next movie in the Westborough Public Library’s monthly movie presentation for adults will be on Thursday, April 12 at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. In honor of the Titanic Centennial 2012, the library will be showing a black and white movie based on the sinking of the Titanic. This program is free. For the movie title, please call the library at 508-366-3050.
5. The Patrick-Murray administration's Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation recommended that tax filers avoid so-called Refund Anticipation Loans (RAL) and Refund Anticipation Checks (RAC) because the costs attached significantly reduce the size of refunds. RALs and RACs promise consumers immediate payments for their refunds but come with costs so high through fees and interest rates that federal regulators have moved to block all RALs by next year.
