Community Remembers Trish Allen

 Patricia A. “Trish” (McClure) Allen, 58, of Douglas passed away on Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous 19-month battle against ovarian cancer. She was the beloved wife of Joseph J. Allen.

Trish was born April 27, 1955 in Worcester, the first of nine children of Francis B. and Nancy L. (Kelly) McClure of North Grafton. She was a graduate of Grafton High School, and a member of the National Honor Society. She had attended Quinsigamond Community College, Worcester. She worked beside her husband in several business ventures and loved to spend time by the water.

Patricia and her husband celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary this past year. She was devoted to her girls and grandchildren. A loving wife, mother, grammy, daughter, and sister, she cherished the Christmas season.

In addition to her husband of 38 years and parents, she is survived by three daughters; Jodi Leigh Allen and Ryan Martin of Brighton, Heather M. and her husband Eric Sodel of Tolland, Conn., and Krystle B. and her husband Eric Leveille of Worcester; grandchildren, Teagan E. Sodel, Kylee R. Sodel and a future granddaughter to come. Patricia is survived by her siblings; Michael F. and his wife Daintria McClure of Westborough, Daniel P. McClure and Nancy Curran of Washington, N.H., Lawrence D. and his wife Ruth McClure of Charlton, Thomas J. McClure of Douglas, Steven M. and his wife Carol McClure of Waldoboro, Maine, Lori A. and her husband Mark Simpson of Douglas and Timothy J. and his wife Kathy McClure of Hillsborough, N.H.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, including Jane Lewis and Hector Couture of Worcester, Patricia Knowlton of Grafton, David and his wife Connie McClure of North Grafton and Cornelius and his wife Chris McClure of Georgia. Patricia was predeceased by her sister, Cheryl A. McClure Atchue and her uncle, Lee Knowlton.

Trish herself, and her family would like to thank Dr. Shepro and his staff from St. Vincent Cancer and Wellness Center, formerly Commonwealth Hematology for their care and support.

Visiting hours will be Sunday Dec. 22, 2013 from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 North Main St., Route 122, Uxbridge.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at 10 a.m. from the funeral home. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church, 17 Waterville St., Route 30, North Grafton. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery, Douglas.
