Community Remembers Joseph Aronof

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Joseph Aronof, 93, of Worcester died on Monday, Nov. 4 at the Jewish Healthcare Center.

His wife of many years, Fannie (Behar) Aronof, died in 1994.

He leaves a daughter, Malka wife of Leon Sebag of Worcester; a son, Asher Aronof and his wife Felice of Westborough; his grandchildren, David Sebag and his wife Malee of New York City, Susan wife of Eddie Carter of Worcester and Andrew Aronof and Isabelle Aronof, both of Westborough; and his great-grandchildren, Divinity, Luna and August.

He leaves his family and friends with his favorite outlook in life, “Live life to the fullest."

He was born in Batum, Georgia, Russia and was a son of Rabbi Asher and Malda (Janaschwili) Aronof, and lived in Turkey for many years and in Israel for four years, moving to Worcester in 1965.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 in the Chapel of the Jewish Healthcare Center at 629 Salisbury St., under the direction of Richard Perlman of Brezniak Rodman Chapels of Newton. Burial will be in Worcester Hebrew Cemetery in Auburn.

Following the interment service, memorial observance will begin at the Jewish Healthcare Center and will continue Tuesday through Thursday evenings at Beth Israel Synagogue on Jamesbury Drive from 7 to 8:30 p.m. joining the family for services with a reception to follow. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
