Community Remembers Erving Glazier Jr.

A memorial service will be held Thursday.

Erving C. Glazier Jr., passed away on Nov. 27, 2013 at the age of 80. He had been a resident of Holbrook since 1978, and had previously resided in Belmont and Bridgewater.

He was the son of the late Erving Sr. and Nancy (Craig) Glazier of Belmont and Nashua, N.H. He was the former husband of Carol A (Benson) Glazier of Mashpee.

Erving was born and raised in Belmont, and graduated from Belmont High School in 1951. He then served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean Conflict. Following discharge, he graduated from Tufts University. He was employed as a psychiatric social worker at the Fernald State School; as a psychologist at the Institute for Juvenile Guidance of Bridgewater; a rehabilitation councilor for the Rehab Commission in Brockton and did research for UMASS Amherst.

He is survived by his four children: Kathy Bliss and her husband Bill of Katy, Texas; Dana Glazier of Lakewood, Colo.; Heather Hummel and her husband Steve of Westborough and Christopher Glazier of Wareham. In addition, he leaves seven grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and his only sibling, Robert Glazier and his wife Carolyn, of Greenfield, Ind.

Erving was an active member of the Brockton Universalist-Unitarian Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the church, 325 West Elm St., Brockton at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations in Erving’s memory may be made to the Brockton Universalist-Unitarian Church, 325 W Elm St., Brockton, MA. Blessings to all!
