Why Doesn't Westborough Have a Fireworks Display?

Today, we answer this inquiry: Why doesn't Westborough have its own July 4 fireworks?

Westborough Patch asked Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon.

"Basically location," Gordon said Tuesday.

"We used to have them at the high school, but with the turf that was put in, there would be a problem if anything hot came in contact with it. It would melt and damage the expensive material.

"We looked at other locations such as Lake Chauncy, but nothing seemed to work."
