Grafton native Justin Dion calls the chance to study in Tanzania during his spring 2014 break from college "the opportunity of a lifetime."

The University of Maine in Orono senior, majoring in wildlife ecology, has started a GoFundMe campaign to support his participation in the three-credit field course, for which he was selected.

He had raised $1,015 of his $5,100 goal as of 9:50 a.m. Wednesday.

"This is the opportunity of a lifetime for me to travel to another continent and study what I am passionate about," Dion wrote on his GoFundMe page.

"I will be working one on one with Wildlife professionals and gaining valuable field experience in the process."
