Community Corner

Westborough resident to star in OUR TOWN

MOONSTRUCK THEATER COMPANY, in association with Amazing Things Art Center of Framingham, is pleased to present the classic American play OUR TOWN, opening Friday, March 14, and running for seven performances through Sunday, March 23.

This Pulitzer Prize-winning play is Thornton Wilder’s most frequently performed work. Set in the early 20th century in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners, New Hampshire, the play explores the beauty of love, marriage, family and the everyday precious moments that may be taken for granted. Our Town, known for its minimalistic use of set and props, has the Stage Manager narrate the love story of George Gibbs and Emily Webb. As the couple moves through life we are reminded of how important it is to stop and take time to appreciate the significance in the simplest of moments.

The production features 14 performers from the Boston and MetroWest regions, including Westborough resident James Gagnon as Joe Crowell, the paperboy in Grover’s Corners who play baseball. “I am grateful for the opportunity to perform in this classic American play and am very excited to perform with Moonstruck Theater Company for the first time,” says Gagnon. “Our Town is going to be fantastic! The actors are so talented and the story is cool because it is set in the early 1900s. The story has everything - it is dramatic, sad and happy all at once.” In his second year of performing in community theater, Gagnon says his favorite role was "Star to be" in Annie.

James is a 6th grader who participates with his local swim team and sings in his school chorus and church choir.

The show is produced by Caroline Fonseca and directed by Matthew Sherman.

The production will be presented at Amazing Things Art Center, Framingham, MA.

Tickets are $24 for general admission, $23 for senior citizens and students, $21 for Amazing Things Members, and $12 for children 12 and under.
