Westborough Historical Society Presents "Peddling Your Wares: A Look at Itinerant Merchants in Early 19th Century New England"

In
the 1800s, thousands of traveling salesmen brought goods from around the world
to the homes of farm families as part of a growing consumer revolution.  They also brought news and conversation to
people not instantly tied to the outside world as we are. Enjoy a dramatic
encounter with a costumed peddler to learn about the economics, politics, and
culture of the 1830s. The program features Tom Kelleher, curator of Old
Sturbridge Village, and is sponsored by the West-borough Civic Club.  Snow date March 3.
