International Games Day at Westborough Library

Read, learn and play during International Games Day @ The Westborough Public Library!

The Westborough Public Library will join hundreds of libraries throughout the country for the sixth annual celebration of gaming in libraries – International Games Day @ your library on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 1-4:30 p.m. “Libraries are becoming family destinations, and are continuously offering new formats and innovative programs and services that educate, entertain and expand interaction with their users” said Donna Martel, Adult Services Librarian.  “Gaming is yet another example of how libraries are becoming more than just educational resources for the communities that they serve.  They are also places where users of all ages are welcome to have fun together.”

Chris Walsh, from the Whiz store in Westborough, will be bringing the board game Star Trek Catan and a variety of other games for all different ages that people can play.  We will also have the classic games Scrabble, chess, backgammon, and Monopoly available along with Bananagrams, Jenga, Pass the Pig, a variety of different card games, and many more for people to play in the meeting room, the Young Adult area, the main floor area and the Children’s Room.

International Games Day @ your library is a national initiative supported by the American Library Association.  For more information on National Gaming Day please visit http://ilovelibraries.org/gaming.

This event is free and open to the public.  For more information, call the library at 508-366-3050.  Come and enjoy a fun Sunday afternoon at the library.
