Framingham SafePlace: Support for Suicide Survivors

The Framingham SafePlace group will be meeting Wednesday, August 13, from
7 – 8:30 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of Framingham. SafePlace is an open group
for people who have lost a loved one to suicide. It provides an atmosphere of
acceptance for exploring feelings that are often not understood by others. These
meetings are free, on-going, and drop in – there is no registration necessary.
Trained volunteers and staff from Samaritans, a statewide suicide prevention
organization, facilitate this group. All of the participants are suicide
survivors and facilitators have lost someone to suicide as well.

The Framingham SafePlace group meets on the second and fourth
Wednesday of every month from 7 – 8:30 p.m. at The Lutheran Church of Framingham, located
at 720 Edgell Road, Framingham, MA 01701.

Samaritans’ mission is to reduce the incidence of suicide by
alleviating despair, isolation, distress and suicidal feelings among
individuals in our community, 24 hours a day; to educate the public about
suicide prevention; and to reduce the stigma associated with suicide. We accomplish this through services that emphasize
confidential, non-judgmental, and compassionate listening.
