Former Gov. Michael Dukakis will be the guest speaker at the Westborough Democratic Town Committee meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Tatnuck Bookseller and Cafe, 18 Lyman St.
Dukakis will discuss Jack and Nancy Lawton, as well as the campaign trail. When Dukakis ran for lieutenant governor in 1970, Jack Lawton served as his campaign manager. Nancy Lawton was active in Democratic politics for many years, including serving as chairman of the Westborough Democratic Town Committee. The Lawtons were Westborough residents when they died in a car accident in 1991. At that time, Jack Lawton was the minister at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Lawtons' Way in Westborough was named in their honor.
