No services at the Unitarian Church in Westborough this morning. And the Crock Pot Challenge has been postponed.

From the Congregation B'nai Shalom Facebook page: "Due to the volume of snow from the Blizzard of 2013, and the uncertainty of the conditions of both the Temple parking lot and predicted single digit early morning temperatures, we are cancelling Religious School, the Family Education Program and Adult Education classes for tomorrow, Sunday, February 10.  The Bat Mitzvah of Hannah Swanick will take place beginning at Noon tomorrow in the Temple Sanctuary. In the event of an emergency while the Temple is closed, please call the Temple office at 508-366-7191 and follow the instructions on the message regarding emergencies."

From the St. Stephen's Episcopal Church Facebook page: "Due to the inclement weather and continued efforts to clean things up, we are cancelling the 8 AM service for tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 10. There will still be a 9:30 AM service for any who are able to make it.  Please exercise caution, and if the roads near you look questionable, don’t risk the drive: God will still be with you!"

From the Westborough Police Department's Facebook page: "As of 10:00 AM, we have had one report of a power outage. NGRID has restored power to that customer. Most roadways are passable but are very slippery. The DPW will continue plowing and will salt and sand before they shut down major operations today. The DPW will be back out tomorrow to start with snow removal and sidewalk plowing. Our snow emergency will continue until further notice in order to allow the DPW to open all of the roadways. Please make sure that you shovel the area around any exhaust vent at your residence. This includes dryer vents, furnace vents and hot water heater vents. Please check on any elderly or handicapped neighbors to ensure their safety."

From the Westborough Police Department's Facebook page: "State of Emergency still in effect at this time. DO NOT DRIVE unless an emergency exists. Extremely dangerous driving. If able to walk, the BP convenience store on Milk St. and 7-11 on South St. are open. Also Dunkin Donuts both east and west bound on Rte. 9 is open. The town's emergency operation center will be conducting a meeting at 9:30 AM."

The MBTA has suspended service for Saturday.

Gov. Deval Patrick signed an executive order to ban people from being on the roads as of 4 p.m. Friday.

The Governor says as many people need to be off the road as possible. this is first time he has signed an executive order banning all drivers as of 4 p.m. 

The last time an order like this has been issued was after the Blizzard of 78. 

Violators could be fined up to $500 and be sentenced to a year in jail, although he says the main purpose is to get non-essential people off the roads.

Westborough officials have implemented a winter parking ban.

Westborough District Court: Closing at 3 p.m. Friday.

MBTA: Suspends all service at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Conservation Commission's Site Walk of Bowman Street Conservation Area (Saturday): Postponed until further notice.

Westborough Patch hears that the Lyman Street Stop & Shop has C and D batteries.

Rhythm Dance Company: Closed Friday and Saturday.

Westborough YWCA Child Care: Closing at noon Friday.

Congregation B'nai Shalom: Shabbat Evening 7:30 p.m. Friday service cancelled. Torah and Tefillah 8 a.m. study on Saturday morning cancelled. Shabbat Morning 10:15 a.m. service cancelled. Jr. Youth Group Program cancelled. 4 p.m. P.J. Havdallah postponed.

Retirement party for Fire Capt. Phil Kittredge: Cancelled.

Barry Rocklin's Friday night show at Cheng Du Restaurant's 157 Bin Wine Bar & Lounge: Cancelled. Rescheduled for 8 p.m. until closing Saturday.

Food Packaging event at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church: Postponed from Saturday to Sunday, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church: Closed Friday and Saturday.

Westborough Girl Scout Cookie Booth sales: Cancelled Friday and Saturday.

E.L. Harvey and Sons' transfer station closed at 3 p.m. Friday and will remain closed on Saturday due to the storm, town Sanitarian Steven Baccari said Thursday.

Police are reminding residents to tune into emergency radio station 1610 AM for updated storm information.
