Festivities a Halloween Treat for Westborough Kids

The Westborough Recreation Department's 35th annual Halloween Spooktacular drew quite a range of characters.

Seeing a ghost at the Gibbons Middle School on Friday night was nothing to be afraid about.

It was there playing games, laughing at a clown and having refreshments.

The Westborough Recreation Department's 35th annual Halloween Spooktacular Children's Halloween Costume Party for Kindergarten to grade four featured no tense moments.

The festivities drew plenty of characters, including a box of popcorn; Mario from Mario Bros.; a number of ninjas; and enough super-heroes to support a team-up of the Avengers and the Justice League of America.

The event opened in the gym with games run by Westborough High School volleyball players. Gary the Silent Clown then performed in the auditorium. Refreshments in the cafeteria evnded the program.

Admission was free. However, guests were asked to bring a non-perishable item or paper good for the Westborough Food Pantry,
