DPW Gives Away Free Trees for Arbor Day

Fifty trees will be handed out on a first come first serve basis at the Westborough Public Library on Monday, April 25.

Last year, I stopped by the building on Oak Street to pick up one of the 50 free saplings being given away to residents for Arbor Day. Today, one year later, I took this photo of my little sapling. It made it through the winter on my back porch and will soon be strong enough to plant in the yard.

On Monday, April 25, the will again be giving away trees in honor of Arbor Day. The distribution will take place at the beginning at 10 a.m. Fifty Douglas fir saplings will be given to Westborough residents on a first come first serve basis.

What a great way to recognize Arbor Day! That being said, anyone have some tree planting suggestions? My mother gave me and my husband a tree the year we were married...it's dead now. (The marriage lives on, though!) :-)
