5 Things: The Latest on the Library Project

1. Looking to participate in Westborough town government? Selectmen say they have these vacancies:

  • Conservation Commission: two non-voting associates
  • Country Club Operating Committee: one non-voting associate
  • Cultural Council: one non-voting associate
  • Historical Commission: two non-voting associates
  • Personnel Board: one member
  • Zoning Board of Appeals: two voting alternates

2. Support Westborough High School athletics:

  • JV golf at Shrewsbury, at Cyprian Keyes Golf Club, 3 p.m.
  • Varsity golf vs. Nashoba, at Westborough Country Club, 3:15 p.m.
  • Freshman field hockey vs. North Middlesex, at WHS baseball field, 4 p.m.
  • JV boys soccer vs. Groton-Dunstable, at Gibbons Middle School, 4 p.m.
  • Varsity girls soccer at Groton-Dunstable, 4 p.m.
  • JV girls soccer at Groton-Dunstable, 4 p.m.
  • Varsity boys soccer vs. Groton-Dunstable, at WHS, 4 p.m.
  • Freshman volleyball vs. Central Catholic, at WHS, 4 p.m.
  • JV volleyball vs. Central Catholic, at WHS, 4 p.m.
  • Varsity volleyball vs. Central Catholic, at WHS, 5:15 p.m.

3. Meanwhile, Westborough High School juniors and their parents, take note: junior parent information night is from 7 to 8:30 tonight.

4. And the Westborough Public Library's Children's Room and main floor Adult area are off-limits until Oct. 19, according to the library's website. The closing is due to the library's heating and ventilation project.

5. But, the Tatnuck Bookseller is holding a Scrabble Night with Jackie Rose. It's from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
