5 Things: Register to Vote Today

Looking for things to do in Westborough today? Here are some ideas/

Each morning, Westborough Patch presents “5 Things You Need to Know,” a collection of announcements, events, reminders and odd little ditties to help you organize your day. What will you be doing today?

1. Register to vote: There will be a special voter registration session from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the town clerk’s office. This is for anyone who is not a registered voter in Westborough, is a U.S. citizen, and will be 18 years old by Sept. 6, 2012.

2. Play golf for a cause: The annual Ben Horgan Golf Tournament will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., starting at the Juniper Hills Golf Course in Northborough. This fundraiser supports families going through crisis, with proceeds going to Camp Sunshine, the Jimmy Fund, the Ben Horgan Scholarship, and a local family dealing with a crisis. The event starts at 10 a.m., with a shot-gun golf tournament at Juniper Hills. Golf is $125 per person.

3. The hosts lunch, a treasure hunt and fun games, with Dora and Boots, from 2 to 3 p.m. The event is free for members. More information is here.

4. Catch a show: The Westborough Players’ Club will conclude its 75th season with “Working: A Musical." The performances are at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 17, Aug. 18, Aug. 24 and Aug. 25, and 2 p.m. Aug. 19 and Aug. 26 at The Willows in Westborough. Tickets are $15 for general admission, and $10 for seniors and students with a valid student ID.
