Rising Taxes? No one likes taxes going up and I think our elected officials "get that". I'm confident that our elected officials get that message and will make decisions based on what are good for the town as a whole. Although I not always agree I certainly respect them for their time and work. I believe that a most important characteristic of being an elected official is the ability to gain consensus among your fellow board members so that important decisions can be agreed upon. It is my respectful opinion that Mr Faris doesn't have that important component to be able to gain opinion among his possible selectmen peers. OK...he has talked a lowering taxes game that may sound attractive especially for people that haven't kept a close eye on things however I suggest that you go back the past year and read some of his blogs that he has posted. He hasn't brought people together with the exception of his 5 or 6 that constantly make their attendance known at various meetings. He is not a friend of our schools rather he would rather make substantial cuts regardless of their impact. He claims that he has experience yet he has none when it comes to local government. He has used this blog as a divider as opposed to bringing people together. How is that going to change if he becomes a selectman? Nothing will change and i doubt he would have any positive impact on driving consensus of opinion for the benefit of our town. It was quite some time ago when he blasted me in a blog when I raised my concern and opinion on some things that he said. I challenged him that perhaps he should run for elected office rather that just spout off in a blog. Well...my hat is off to Mr Faris for stepping up and throwing his hat in the ring. Running for an elected office takes some guts and I respect that. with that said I hope he doesn't win. Join me in NOT voting for Mr Faris.
