An Optometry Practice Creates A More Visual Website

An optometry practice creates a more visual website. Dr. Benjamin Lickteig, owner of Lickteig Family Eyecare reached out to us to assist him with the following objectives for his website:

  • A website that would increase traffic to his domain and encourage online conversions.
  • Development of a user friendly online tool focused on patient education.

A website of this caliber requires a lot of information relevant to the diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions and disease. Consumers can get easily overwhelmed by the amount of information required to accurately discuss the multitude of eye conditions and treatments that exist.  Therefore, it was essential to develop a website that did not just offer patient education, but was capable of directing the online user to their desired destination.

The top navigation of the website was created purposely to send online users to the content being searched. Hyperlinks to pages related to content being read were installed to further enhance the users experience.  Pages were constructed with textual, visual and audio content to better inform site visitors of the particular eye conditions and treatments of which they are seeking information.

The website required a custom look that realistically spoke of the quality of the Lickteig Family Eyecare “brand” while encouraging online users to convert to actual clients. Several call to action (CTA’s) were developed and incorporated into the site. These CTA’s were created to expedite the online experience, and eliminate waiting time spent in the reception area upon visit to the office.  By encouraging new and existing patients to use the tools made available to them via the website, much of the information gathering processes can be finished BEFORE scheduled appointments.

Third party applications were embedded within the main framework of the website to avoid confusing visitors. Online users may enter into HIPPA secure applications without leaving the primary website or feeling as if they were misdirected to a different website. The following third-party applications were incorporated:

  • Online Registration: In order to expedite the check in process for new customers to Lickteig Family Eyecare offers online registration.
  • Patient Portal: The better and easier it is for their clients to communicate with the office, the better the overall experience. The Patient Portal was created to streamline the process of communication. Patients enjoy convenient 24 x 7 access from the comfort and privacy of their own home or office.
  • Order Contact Lenses Online: In order to make the contact lens ordering process as seamless as possible, patients can reorder their lenses online.
  • Schedule Online:  To accommodate their patient’s busy lifestyles, they also offer an online scheduling system.

Of the four highlighted online tools, are you able to determine which are third-party applications and which are not? Visit Lickteig Family EyeCare and see if you can tell the difference.
