Westborough Businesses are Information Superhighway Hot Spots

Westborough is a shopping destination on the information superhighway -- more than any other Massachusetts community, Google says.

Westborough will be named the 2013 Google eCity for Massachusetts at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the South Street Diner, 40 South St., event leaders said Friday in a press release.

"The eCity Awards recognize the strongest online business community in each state - the digital capitals of America. These cities’ businesses are embracing the web to find new customers, connect with existing clients and fuel their local economies. Westborough joins the ranks of America’s leading cities in the digital economy," the release notes.

Congressman Jim McGovern (D-Worcester), Google Head of Community Affairs Matt Dunne, and local small business leaders are scheduled to attend the celebration.
