South Indian Restaurant OK'd For Route 9

A South Indian restaurant with New Jersey locations plans to open on Route 9 in Westborough.

Selectmen have approved a common victualer license for Taste of Andhra LLC, doing business as Mirchi, at 291 Turnpike Road, the former Khatta Mitha, also an Indian restaurant.

"Andhra is one of the states in India, and we wanted to bring the native food to people in the United States," manager Bhaskar Rednam told selectmen.

The restaurant has New Jersey locations, "and we wanted to bring the taste to New England," he said.
