Fruitti Cup Brings FroYo to Westborough

The new shop, which offers frozen yogurt and smoothies, opened on South Street Friday.

If you want to give your new business a jump start, it can't hurt to open the day of a .

It wasn't Bri Nguyen and James Ta's the same day as Westborough's 4th of July Block Party; it was actually a coincidence, Nguyen said.

"It was a huge success," Nguyen said of the Friday opening.

Fruitti Cup is the latest froyo spot to open in the MetroWest area, and the first to set up shop in Westborough. Nguyen and Ta, both of Worcester, said they loved the concept—which has moved to the east coast after gaining popularity in the west and the south—and did a lot of research before choosing Westborough.

It is their first business.

The self-serve shop, located at 31 South St., offers six flavors at a time, and will rotate in a new flavor each week. Roughly 50 toppings are available. Once you put together your treat, you pay 49 cents an ounce.

Fruitti Cup also makes smoothies.

"Overall, this is a healthier way to indulge your guilty pleasure," Nguyen said.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
