Owen O'Leary's Progressing Slowly

Westborough's health officials presented their June reports to the board of health Tuesday night.

Owen O'Leary's Restaurant and Pub is progressing slowly, Director of Public Health Paul McNulty says.

McNulty wrote in his June report to the board of health that he and Health Inspector Terry Gilchrist checked on the progress last month.

"Going kind of slow here. Only a few workers here and not as far along as I thought it would be," McNulty wrote.

Meanwhile, Gilchrist said in her June report that she responded to Regal Cinemas after two people complained the Route 9 theater's popcorn made them sick.

Gilchrist said she and General Manager Erin Fargin "discussed how they clean the popcorn machine."

"I did not find anything that could have contributed to these people getting sick," Gilchrist said.

Gilchrist also said she did a reopening inspection at Spices Indian Kitchen, in Westmeadow Plaza, last month. The former grocery store now is a 30-seat restaurant.

Meanwhile, Town Sanitarian Steven Baccari said in his June report that he did an opening inspection at Dunkin' Donuts, 183-185 Turnpike Road.

He also "collected three weeks of water samples at the beach at Lake Chauncy."

"All came back well within the limit for fresh water ecoli," Baccari said.
