Chef's Personal Matter Temporarily Closes Bangkok Thai

Restaurant owner expects to 're-open within two weeks.'

The Bangkok Thai Restaurant has not gone out of business, despite what a "closed" sign may suggest.

The East Main Street eatery at 57 East Main St. is "temporarily without a lead chef," and expects to "re-open within two weeks," owner "B.B." said Thursday in a statement released through his attorney, John Matson.

"The chef who has worked at Bangkok Thai since it opened has some personal (matters) out of state to deal with," the statement says.

Tuesday night, voters at Westborough's special town meeting authorized selectmen to petition the state Legislature for an additional all-alcoholic beverages license, specifically for the Bangkok Thai.

The Bangkok Thai Restaurant held a grand opening at 57 East Main St. last Dec. 8. The Mandarin Restaurant formerly occupied that site.
