WCLT Earth Day Cleanup Rain or Shine Saturday, April 26th

We kicked off the 16th Annual WCLT Earth Day cleanup today with an excellent effort by 5 employees from H&S Environmental and 7 of their children, who enthusiastically cleaned a heavily trash section of Bellows Rd just off Rt. 9. At the same time, Marilyn and Jerry Lyle got in a good cleaning along the fence line on Otis St. near the Westborough MBTA station while Chris Bakutis, Mugford's Flowers owner, gathered 2 bags of trash from Rt. 30 in front of her shop. Terrific work that already has made a significant difference.

Unfortunately, though, we have two problems. Westborough is more trashed than ever, and rain's on the way right now. The trash won't move unless we move it. Rain is only water.

Game on!

We're still good to go rain or shine with 2 start times tomorrow (Sat.) morning:

6:30am at 2 sites: Bellows Rd and Rt. 30 (E. Main St.) at Rt. 9 and Westmeadow Plaza (Rt. 135/9 intersection)

9:30am at Lake Chauncy - we'll distribute bags and maps to sites in town that badly need a good cleaning

We're better than the weather. Together we'll make a big difference!

See you this morning!
