The Westborough Cultural Council is awarding grants to 21 of the 28 applicants.
The application total was the highest in recent years, the council said Monday in a press release.
The grants were announced through "generous community support and donations, notably from AMICA Insurance, EMSEAL, Marlborough Savings Bank, Richard and Diane Irwin, Roche Bros. Supermarkets, and Price Chopper Supermarkets, and also to the continuing success of Arts In Common," the council said.

The council will honor the recipients at a reception at 7 p.m. Feb. 6 in Forbes Municipal Building Room 24. The snow date is Feb. 13.
