Updated: Snow Prompts Closings, No Sports

The snowy forecast has begun affecting plans in Westborough on Tuesday.

Villari's Martial Arts of Westborough, at 3 Summer St., has closed, according to its Facebook page.

Cre8 a Do It Yourself Studio, at 76 Otis St., is closing at 4 p.m., according to its Facebook page.

The Westborough Planning Board has rescheduled its Tuesday night meeting to 8 a.m. Thursday in the Forbes Municipal Building.

The Westborough public schools have cancelled all after-school programs, and the extended day programs, according to the district's website.

The bands concert at Westborough High School has been rescheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, according to the high school's website.

The Boroughs JCC, at 45 Oak St., will close at 2:45 p.m., according to its Facebook page.

St. Luke the Evangelist Church, at 70 West Main St., has cancelled its Faith Formation classes, according to its website.

Congregation B'nai Shalom, at 117 East Main St., will close at 2 p.m., according to its Facebook page. The 4 p.m. religious school and 6 p.m. Chai School classes are cancelled.

All Westborough High School and Gibbons Middle School basketball games set for Tuesday have been postponed due to the snow.

The WHS freshman boys and girls games, and the JV and varsity boys games, against Leominster, have been rescheduled for Thursday, according to the Midland-Wachusett League website.

The freshman girls now will host Leominster at 3:45 p.m. Thursday. The freshman boys will play at Leominster at 4 p.m., followed by the JV boys at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity boys at 7 p.m.

The Gibbons boys and girls games against visiting Sherwood Middle School of Shrewsbury have not been rescheduled.

The National Weather Service forecast has Westborough receiving two to four inches of snow Tuesday, mainly after 10 a.m. 

The agency has issued a winter weather advisory from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
