Honor Kai's Memory at 'Kai's Village' Holiday Market Saturday

The 2-year-old died in November; a group is holding a fundraiser Saturday.

Before his death, an active group of residents known as "Kai's Village," had been inspired by the boy and were organizing a to support his family, Sherry's House, and the Jimmy Fund.

The culmination of their efforts is tomorrow, Dec. 8. Kai's Village Holiday Market will be held 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Grafton Elementary School, 105 Millbury St., Grafton.

Below is a press release provided by organizers.

Come hungry!

We have hundreds of items from local bakeries and talented bakers for our bake sale.

The Grafton Girl Scout will be there selling hot chocolate and cotton candy and the DeMolay boys will be there selling popcorn.  Polar Beverages and Grafton Credit Union have contributed soda and water.

We have THREE massage therapists all day that will be giving chair massages (by donation) and 100% of that $ is going to support Kai's Village, Sherry's House, and The Jimmy Fund. In fact, Body Therapeutics in Worcester canceled their annual Holiday Bazaar to be with us tomorrow!

Vendors are donating a portion of their sales to these causes, and most are offering special one day only deals to benefit Kai’s Village, Sherry’s House, and the Jimmy Fund. Some vendors are donating 100% of their proceeds!

This event is completely volunteer run and we have pulled it together in less than THREE WEEKS.

PLEASE help us make this a huge success by telling everyone you know!!

We have been so overwhelmed and inspired by the outpouring of support for Kai’s Village that we have made it our mission to become non-profit in 2013, and continue to help local families in Kai’s memory.

More to come!

Sometimes the amount of human kindness in this world is overwhelming. This event seemed to be a wonderful success and I'm glad I could make it! Kai's passing has been upsetting to many. There is no doubt what an everlasting impact Kerri and Kai have had through their action and through Kerri's blog, www.kaisfightclub.org . If you haven't looked at it yet, do it now. It will change your heart forever.
