Honk If This is Your Westborough Traffic Pet Peeve

Are any missing from this list?

Doing 30 from Route 30 to the Westborough rotary during the evening commute would be a dream come true for some residents.

That ride puts the "stop" in "stop and go" traffic.

Thursday, Westborough Patch asked followers of its Facebook page, "Where are your driving pet peeves in Westborough?"

"The rotary," Sharon Edwards said.

"While driving my daughter each morning to Gibbons Middle School, it's the intersection at Milk, Church and Fisher streets," Karen Rubeo Bigelow said.

"The rotary and Route 30 East congestion," Florence DeLalla Grady said.

"Route 30 from (the) rotary to Lyman Street," Paula Zolli Kirk said.

"I find it tough trying to turn left out of the Fallon Clinic parking lot on East Main Street. No one will let you out, and if they do, you risk life and limb from folks trying to cut around them," Paula Benoit Hogan said.

"The intersection of Fisher and Otis streets. There is an Otis Street stop sign, people!" Nancy Perkins Ward said.

"Trying to take a left out of Church Street onto West Main... .crossing lanes of traffic while competing with those coming out of School Street going left, right and across. Usually have to rely on the kindness of others to let you out," Alison Lindsay Giammarco said.

"Traffic triangle - especially at Mill Road and Routet 30. The rotary too -- many drivers don't know that traffic in the rotary has the right-of-way," Sheila Gibbons Taylor said.

"People who stop in the rotary and parents that drive their kids to school every day instead of using the bus clogging the roads," Louanne Robinson Greene said.

"People who drive way too fast through the downtown neighborhoods just to avoid the rotary (you're really not saving any time!), and drivers who don't stop for pedestrians in crosswalks," Michelle Kinney Conlin said.

"Church Street does not connect with School Street, so people signal left but go kind of left, kind of straight to get there. Should have to make a direct right or left from Church Street so it's not confusing," Susan Mocsny Thomas said.

"Also, at Lyman Street and Route 9, people come across all lanes from the gas station to make a right turn on Route 9, versus just turning right out of the opposite driveway on to Route 9. There should be a sign in their Lyman Street driveway saying right turn onto Lyman Street only," Thomas said.

"Taking 20 to 30 minutes, rolling and stopping and rolling and stopping, from McDonald's all the way to the rotary every weekday around 3 p.m. and then again around 6 p.m. Also, people who do not yield or stop getting onto Route 30 at any of the on-ramps from Route 9. I've almost gotten clobbered a number of times!" Deborah Borci Ziegler said.

"The intersection of Fisher and Otis is so dangerous!! People don't stop at the Otis Street stop sign," Sarah Connors said.

"Entrance to Burlington Coat Factory parking lot. People with the right of way stop, while people with the yield don't yield," MASSive Savings said.
