Florida Outreach Pastor to Lead New Hope

The Rev. Steven Ristuccia's first day of preaching here will be Sept. 15.

New Hope Chapel's next permanent pastor will bring "a wealth of ministry experience and is passionate about serving our community and helping others grow in the Lord," board Chairman Ralph Merrifield posted on the church's Facebook page Wednesday night.

The Rev. Steven Ristuccia is pastor of outreach at the Spanish River Church in Boca Raton, Fla., where he and his wife Liz minister, Merrifield wrote. The Ristuccias are Andover natives.

New Hope members unanimously agreed during a special meeting Sunday to offer Ristuccia the job here, at 30 Milk St., and he accepted on Monday, Merrifield wrote.

"We rejoice that God has called us together and look forward, as our Vision Statement declares, to be "a beacon of hope to our neighbors, by introducing them to Jesus Christ and guiding them to a deep personal relationship with Him," Merrifield wrote.

Ristuccia's first day of preaching at New Hope will be Sept. 15, church member Ralph Merrifield said Thursday.

The Spanish River Church has a "regular attendance of 1,500," Merrifield wrote on New Hope's Facebook page.

The Rev. Ted Brewer served as New Hope's interim pastor from last summer until June 30.
