To the Emmy's and Back

Finally, Sunday the 22nd arrived and the Emmy Awards Show took place! Since receiving approval that the initial book, A Family Affair, of my PMS Private Investigator Series would be included as part of the Hollywood Swag Bags which are presented to the Nominee’s, I’ve been crossing days off the calendar until the big event was due to air.

Although I do realize that I wasn’t up for any kind of award lol, just knowing that my hard work would (hopefully) grace the hands of many well-known and talented individuals was delightful to me.  What I found to be most exciting is that my story shared space with other very popular Authors’ such as Leandra Medine and Nicholas Sparks!  That is definitely the kind of company one wants to keep!  I had heard that Nicholas Sparks book, The Longest Ride, actually became available just before the gift bags were distributed.  I feel honored to have been sitting close, so to speak, to the works of these great writers’.

I was also fortunate enough to gain a radio interview with WBZ CBS as part of their Awards coverage.  I’ve never done anything like that and I was grateful that there wasn’t a set script of questions involved.  I feel I present much more naturally if I can just have a conversation with someone.  They incorporated the final into their Sunday show throughout the entire day.   However, I’ll admit that I did not listen because I am my own worst critic.  If I was a movie star I’d never go see myself.  But regardless, it was a great privilege and I was very excited to be included.

Next item on the agenda to look forward to is the upcoming fall release of my short story which I contributed to a Mystery Anthology called Untreed Detectives.  My work features the main characters from my Series; Paula Stone and Mitexi Scarborough.   The book will be published by Untreed Reads, and is a collaboration of several different Authors’ which is really fun because Readers will have a variety of works to pick from.

Untreed Reads does a great job of bringing their Author’s together.  Additionally, the third installment of their best-selling Thanksgiving Anthology, The Killer Wore Cranberry short story collection will also be out in October.  The books are really funny.  For anyone who likes a little holiday humor as a diversion to the swarm of upcoming family get-togethers which are rapidly approaching, I’d like to suggest giving these some attention.

So, with the fantastic variety of new material which is gracing the bookstores, I’m going to focus a bit of my energy in that direction over the next few weeks.   Hopefully in the next blog, I can offer some fresh recommendations to folks looking for a read that they haven’t had the opportunity to enjoy yet!
