Local Author Supports Two Charities

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Westborough.

It's Tuesday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Westborough to help make your day a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. A local author is supporting two charities.

Westborough High School alum Lauren Grimley is releasing "Unbridled," a collection of connected short stories from her Alex Crocker series, and donating proceeds from the book to support the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and V-Day. Grimley says her fundraiser, called Romance for a Reason, coincides with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which are observed in October.

2. Root for the Rangers.

Here is Tuesday's Westborough High School sports schedule:

  • Golf: at Leominster, at Gardner Golf Course, 3:30 p.m.
  • JV boys soccer: vs. Marlborough, at Gibbons Middle School, 3:30 p.m.
  • Varsity boys soccer: vs. Marlborough, 3:30 p.m.
  • Boys cross-country: vs. Groton-Dunstable, at Veterans Freedom Park, 4 p.m.
  • Girls cross-country: vs. Groton-Dunstable, at Veterans Freedom Park, 4 p.m.
  • Freshman field hockey: at Algonquin, 4 p.m.
  • JV girls soccer: at Marlborough, 5 p.m.

3. Learn about Christianity.

St. Luke's Parish holds the first session of the Christian Initiation for Adults inquiry period at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

4. Learn about "Super Immunity."

Meininger Chiropractic presents "Super Immunity" from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Tatnuck Bookseller's event room.

5. Meet Westborough's newest pastor.

The Rev. J. Mark Worth is serving as interim pastor of the Unitarian Universalist Congregational Society of Westborough.
