Enjoy a Movie at the Armstrong School

Here are five pieces of information to help fuel your day in Westborough.

It's Friday, and that means we've put together this list of things going on in Westborough to help make your day a little brighter, easier and more fun. For a full list of things to do this week, look at the Patch calendar of events.

1. Play with Legos.

The Westborough Public Library offers Lego Fridays at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

2. Catch a movie.

The Armstrong Elementary School shows "Epic" at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

3. Watch for State Police. 

State Police will hold a sobriety checkpoint from Saturday into Sunday on a public way in Worcester County.

4. Root for the Rangers.

Here is Friday's Westborough High School sports schedule:

  • Varsity girls soccer: at Burncoat, 3 p.m.
  • Freshman girls soccer: vs. Hudson, at Mill Pond School, 3 p.m.
  • JV golf: at Wachusett, at Holden Hill Country Club, 3 p.m.
  • Freshman field hockey: at Algonquin, 4 p.m.
  • Varsity field hockey: vs. Hudson, 4 p.m.
  • JV volleyball: at Barnstable, 4:30 p.m.
  • Freshman volleyball: at Barnstable, 4:30 p.m.
  • JV field hockey: vs. Hudson, 5:30 p.m.
  • Varsity volleyball: at Barnstable, 5:45 p.m.

5. In case you missed it: Westborough's MCAS results were strong.

For the Westborough public schools, 2013 was "'the Year of Mathematics' for us" on the MCAS, Assistant School Superintendent Dr. Daniel Mayer told the school committee Wednesday night.
