I had the distinct pleasure Wednesday of doing a second fully active, hands on cooking demonstration with a great group of veterans at Veterans Inc’s Independence Hall in Shrewsbury. Two weeks ago the hall’s Wellness Coordinator, Evelyn Absher, and I put together a menu for our first session. This time we made foods the guys requested after that first session with fresh pizza front and center. Right on!
Actually, we made two pizzas, one with freshly packaged dough, the other made super quickly and easily with whole wheat bread. More about those pizzas and how to make them when the renovated Gotta’ Eat, Can’t Cook site is fully up to speed (it’s a “hurt me” right now, but that will pass).
Along with the pizzas, we also made a fast yogurt dressing with fresh garlic and a shot of fresh basil to go with two salads: one made with apple, orange and avocado and the other to suit diabetic diets made with bell pepper, onion and avocado. Attached are some photos of action in the kitchen and shots of the apple, orange and avocado salad which is freely available in complete easy to follow picture book form by just clicking this link.
