The first performance is in June.

His dream becomes a reality on June 8 when six talented singers perform Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World. Eldridge said the show is about making choices. The Flyleaf Theater website says of the show, “Through music and with no spoken word…we travel to the deck of a Spanish sailing ship in 1492, see a man who is convinced basketball is going to rescue him from a lousy life, discover a woman who marries a man of wealth and materialism just to finally realize she has nothing at …

Local vocal coach said she has 'a ton of pride watching them.'
As Westborough vocal coach Julie Krugman prepares the end-of-year recital for her students, she is especially proud of the three seniors who are moving on to college. Mara Frumkin, Kate Barrette and Chloe Reske will join 17 others in a free public performance. “They are going off to college and focusing on the arts. It’s a big decision,” said Krugman. “[College] is an important time. When you are in your 20s, you can afford to pursue your dreams.” Mara Frumkin, 17, has been singing since eighth grade. She is heading off to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth this fall. She plans to study theater and acting. “I hope to do musical theater, as well,” she said. “I want to keep performing. I want to inspire little kids to do theater.” …

Sally Johnson Presents is interested in presenting summer concerts at Bay State Green, Music Under the Stars, and would like to hear from you about the types of concerts that you would enjoy. “The Bay State Green Committee wants me to present music this summer and I need to ask lots of questions about what people want to hear and which day are they more likely to come out, etc.,” she told Westborough Patch. Paintings from gifted artist are featured in window display at what was once Dress Barn.
Run (or drive)—do not walk—to the former site of Dress Barn in the Westborough Shopping Plaza off Lyman Street. Displayed in the window are six large-scale oil canvases by Hopkinton's 28-year-old Dustin Neece, who one day may be a famous artist. That's what Ed Turner, owner of the Art and Frame Emporium thinks. Neece already tasted fame. When he was in high school, his painting The Bowler was hung in the Corcoran Gallery of Art (Washington, DC) when it won the nation’s top student prize (Scholastic Art Award). Some of Neece's art will also be displayed at the Art and Frame Emporium. The exhibit will run through May 24, but may go longer. A small reception was held at the Emporium on Thursday, May 3 to launch this project. Turner said, "…

The adult urban fantasy novel will be released as an ebook on Friday, April 27.
Local writer and teacher, Lauren Grimley, is releasing her debut novel Unforeseen as an e-book. The novel, available on Friday, April 27, is the first in a planned series of adult urban fantasy books. The story, set in the fictional city of Bristol, Massachusetts, includes a strong heroine, plenty of action, a healthy dose of romance, and, of course, some vampires. Unforeseen fits the category of vampire books that have become popular in recent years, but she said it offers some unique differences. "Most of the urban fantasy books I read had either male heroes or had female characters hyper-focused on their romantic lives,” she said. "I wanted a heroine who had her priorities straight, one who could kick some butt first and get the …
