Twitter Note Leads to Help for Shrewsbury Girl
An Edmonton, Canada woman called Westborough Police early Wednesday after seeing the note. Police then contacted Shrewsbury Police.
WESTBOROUGH, MA -- A Shrewsbury teenager was taken to the hospital for evaluation Wednesday after two people contacted Westborough Police after seeing a suicide note she posted on Twitter on Tuesday night.
A woman from Edmonton, Canada called Westborough Police at 2:14 a.m. Wednesday to report the note, which was posted around 10:13 p.m. Tuesday, Westborough Police Chief Alan Gordon said today.
The caller "did some research" and tracked the girl's cell phone number to a phone "issued out of a store in Westborough," Gordon said.
Westborough Police also received an e-mail about the note through the department's website, he said.
Westborough Police then worked with Verizon Wireless to identify the girl, he said.
Police shared their information with Shrewsbury Police, who found her, Gordon said.

If someone wants to end their life, i think its ok because no one should interfere with anothers life or death decisons if they do interfere, the person will likely try again . Sometimes a person is so absolutely, lonely, miserable, friendless, confused about life.... just let them go.

Things may seem hopeless at a time - but they can be resolved or fixed and life can be wonderful again. I am very thankful that I was stopped.

you're joking- right?! a permanent solution to what's probably a temporary problem, and you're OKAY with that?! I sincerely hope no on in YOUR circle ever gets despondant; you'd probably buy them the rope yourself! SMGDH!!!

You are so wrong. Life is precious, and we should always help those who feel the need to end theirs. Especially a young teenager. Perhaps all it would take is a bit of kindness from her peers, and a GOOD friend. You used the right word.. 'confused'. I would hate to end my life because I was confused. Please don't ever feel that you should do that.... Florence

people who WANT to end their life don't send out notes on a public forum. they want help.

Rose, It saddens me to see your post. People should always step up and try to help a person who wants to end their life. The feelings that you describe can be over-come. Look at actor Owen Wilson. Just a couple of years ago, he tried to commit suicide. Today he has a wonderful wife and beautiful new baby. It's never as hopeless as it feels. I pray for you that you are not speaking about yourself. God Bless you Rose.

no one deserves to die .. especially if they are killed or killed themselves... everything dies at one point or another , but to take ur life or take anothers life is just not ok or right! this girl needs professional help as well as sumone that she can trust and talk to .. if a person really wanted to kill themselves they wouldnt tell others they would of just done it .. if a person leaves a letter, email, text etc.... thats their way of hinting and telling others they are in desperate need of help.. as for the woman who contacted the police she did a good thing and helped save a young girls life! good to see there are still good people who care ! god bless

WoW Rose .. I can not believe you wrote such a comment .. If it was your sister ,brother or someone U loved so much ..You mean to tell me you would just let them go and kill themself..Oh maybe u meant that if they were very very ill or something . . cause I can NOT believe you would say that just because they were confused.. If that were you I bet someone would come to UR rescuse and let you know that U were alright and lets go get help and talk this out... right...

Rose: Nobody should interfere with end of life decisions if there is no hope. If one has terminal cancer or any other terminal disease they should be allowed to die with dignity. There is no purpose in keeping people alive on tubes.
However this is completely different. It's easy to think life is over because life is pulling you down. It's a momentary feeling based on whatever troubles are happening. These can be solved. It's not terminal. There is no reason to kill yourself.
