Town Teen Chosen for NE Revolution Team

The 15-year-old is one of 21 chosen from the New England region.

Dan Casey, 15, of Westborough, is one of 21 athletes in the New England region chosen to play on The New England Revolution Under-16 youth team. Players were selected by the youth development coaching staff during a series of invitational and open tryouts in June and July.

“We are excited to add a number of new young players to our academy,” said Director of Youth Development Bryan Scales. “Coming in, they are a talented group and we are looking forward to working with them to continue their development.”

During the 2010-11 season, the Under-16 team qualified for the US Soccer Development Academy playoffs for the second consecutive time during its three-year history. Casey is one of 11 new players to join the Under-16 squad.

The Revolution’s youth program is the only fully-funded youth soccer program in New England. All players’ needs and expenses related to soccer activities – training, facilities, equipment, uniforms, travel associated with competitions – are provided by the Revolution at no cost to the players or their families.
