TELL US: What Should Scott Brown Do Next?
U.S. Sen. Scott Brown will leave office in January. What should he do next?
U.S. Sen. Scott Brown, a Republican, was defeated Tuesday by first time candidate Elizabeth Warren, a Democrat.
Warren will take office as the state's junior senator in January.
She'll replace Brown, who was elected in a special election in January 2010 when he defeated Democrat Martha Coakley.
In his concession speech on Tuesday night, Brown told supporters that "defeat is only temporary."
As soon as the race was called, analysts began suggesting Brown may run for Massachusetts governor in 2014 or would seek the state's other U.S. Senate seat if Sen. John Kerry is named Secretary of State under President Barack Obama in his second term.
What should Brown do next? Tell us in the comments.

Last night, when I was watching Scott Brown give his concession speech. I said out loud, this man would make an excellent president.

he should change his name to Kennedy. The Massachusetts lemmings proved last night that even with ZERO experience that is all you need..

Two possibilities floated around: If Obama chooses Kerry for his cabinet, Brown could run for that Senate seat next year; or Brown could run for governor in two years. He could fit the Bill Weld moderate Republican role. What do you think?

Either of these is a good option. He seemed to be thinking of these options when he said "Defeat is only temporary" last night.

Scott Brown is a snake oil salesman acting the role of moderate, independent servant of the people. His record, especially those meaningless votes for the other side, speaks for itself. Self-serving, he'll now be reading scripts on how to become a governor. Brown lacks depth and conviction.....but will be coming our way soon.

Scott really ought to walk away from the party that lost this for him. He's an actual Republican, in my book. A moderate, a sensible guy I might not agree with but know that he's thought his position through on. His campaign staff acting in the way they did - that's what cost Brown and Romney their elections. They were not beaten. They lost, because America is done with the dysfunctional pandering monster that the GOP has sadly become of late.

Put a "D" after his name and run for anything he wants. The D's never look at the candidate other than to see if he or she has a D after their name as evidenced by last night's results.

Hopefully he will come to realize that the negative campaign advertising doesn't work. Instead of running on his record he chose to trash Warren personally. Warren attacked his record but not him.
He might make a good governor if he stops pandering to the most extreme members of the republican party

You are so right Deb. I cant stand the negative stuff. I was so fed up with Brown it turned me around from even voting for him. He reminded me of a little school boy that doesnt want anyone else to play.

Scott should help the Republican Party find a platform that is acceptable to fiscal conservatives of all races and genders. Or he should leave the Republican Party, politics or Massachusetts, because the Republican Party as currently composed will not win many elections around here.

Some here have very short memories. We have elected republican governors many times before. I don't believe Scott is a bad person but the tea party entity is frightful and the Karl rove tactics don't work in mass. The country is heading for the cliff and everything has to be on the table. If you want to reduce benefits/entitlements then change tax code so that big businesses who get tax breaks to encourage incention and growing industry lose the breaks if they move jobs overseas. Compromise means everything goes on the table before anything is removed

He should forget politics here in Massachusetts. He could get a job at the Pentagon if he really likes D.C. as Gail has a job thrre now. His girls are grown up and they will be out of State.

Brown has to confront the bigotry rampant in the Republican part. Not just distance himself, but face it head on, call it out and stomp on it. Hard.
