Steal a Lawn Sign, Get Charged With Larceny
Several signs -- primarily for Barack Obama and Elizabeth Warren -- have been reported stolen lately.
Several political signs -- primarily for Barack Obama and Elizabeth Warren -- have been reported stolen from lawns throughout Westborough lately, Police Chief Alan Gordon says.
Police now have launched their own campaign, of sorts.
The message: "Anyone caught stealing a sign will be charged with larceny," Gordon said in a press release today.

"A pickup truck and a Jeep have been observed in the area of the thefts," he said.
One Mitt Romney sign has been reported stolen, Gordon said.
Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call the Westborough Police Department at 508-366-3060.

Political sign thefts have been an issue here in recent weeks.
In response, on Oct. 12, Gordon said police on patrol would be "extra vigilant" for such incidents.
