Retired Firefighter Seeks Selectmen Term

Four people now have taken out nomination papers for selectman. Two three-year seats are on the March 5 annual town ballot.

Retired firefighter Francis Sowa took out nomination papers today for a three-year term on the board of selectmen, Town Clerk Nancy Yendriga said.

Sowa, of Mayberry Drive, joins incumbents Timothy Dodd and Leigh Emery, and Ruggles Street resident Stephen Faris, in taking out papers for the board.

Two three-year seats are on the March 5 ballot.

The deadline for taking out papers is 5 p.m. Friday.

As of Wednesday night, Dodd and Faris had returned their papers. The deadline for filing papers signed by 50 registered voters with Yendriga for certification is 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Two Westborough Public Library trustee three-year terms had drawn no interest as of Thursday morning. The details on that, and the rest of the ballot, are here.
