"I've been asked to speak at the rally to share my personal experience," she said.

Levine-Kanji also has blogged about her experience.

The national One Million Moms will co-sponsor the March on Washington for Gun Control in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, the press release notes.

"The goal of the march is to demand immediate action on common sense gun control legislation. Thousands of Americans are expected to fill the Beltway in support of Congressional gun control legislation," the press release says.

The organization says it wants elected officials to "ban assault weapons and ammunition magazines of more than 10 rounds"; "require background checks for all gun purchasers"; "report the sale of large quantities of ammunition to the ATF"; and "limit the scope of concealed weapons laws at the state level."
