Westborough resident Emily Mongeau, who plays for the Southern New Hampshire University women’s soccer team, was named the Northeast-10 Conference Select Sport Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Mongeau, a graduate student, anchored a Penmen defense that helped SNHU win twice on the road last week, both times by 1-0 scores. Southern New Hampshire allowed just 15 shots as it improved to 6-3-1 and 4-3-1 in NE-10 play.
This season, Mongeau is one of seven players to start all 10 games for SNHU to date.
Southern New Hampshire hosts Bentley University in a Northeast-10 match at 7 tonight at Larkin Field.
